Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification or licensure for the state of Washington
  • Experience teaching in Special Education across grades K-5; direct classroom experience in 1st – 5th grade preferred
  • Familiarity with Elementary Independent Learning and Structured classroom models
  • Strong understanding of adapting curriculum to individual educational plans (IEPs)
  • Ability to build supportive relationships with students, families, and school teams
  • Passion for fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement lesson plans tailored to students with diverse needs
  • Deliver instruction in both pull-out and inclusive settings for K-5 classrooms
  • Collect and report student progress data in alignment with IEP goals
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to setting measurable student goals
  • Provide guidance and support to families regarding student challenges and achievements
