This role focuses on providing Extended School Year (ESY) support in a dedicated 1:1 environment, working closely with a 2nd grade student who is awaiting placement. The position is set to begin in early July, allowing educators to make a real difference during the summer session.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid certification or licensure in Special Education (state requirements must be met)
  • Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, particularly in elementary settings, preferred
  • Experience with ESY (Extended School Year) programs is highly valued
  • Skilled in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Ability to modify curriculum and employ varied teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs
  • Excellent communication skills for working collaboratively with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 specialized educational support to a 2nd-grade student during the ESY session
  • Develop and adapt lesson plans that cater to the student’s specific needs and learning goals
  • Track and document progress toward IEP objectives
  • Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and school staff regarding progress
