Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid and active Ohio certificate/license: Education of the Handicapped K-12 or Intervention Specialist K-12 (Moderate/Intensive or Mild/Moderate)
- Experience working with students with multiple disabilities
- Skilled in inclusion models, resource room support, and small group instruction
- Comfortable collaborating with staff to serve a diverse population
- Proficient in writing and implementing IEPs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to kindergarten students, both individually and in small groups
- Adapt lessons and instructional strategies to meet the varied needs of learners
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers and related services staff to facilitate student inclusion and progress
- Write, update, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with state requirements
- Use data and ongoing assessment to tailor instruction and communicate progress with families and teams
- Foster a positive, encouraging classroom atmosphere that appreciates every child’s unique abilities
