Special Education Teacher - Lancaster, Ohio

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid and active Ohio certificate/license: Education of the Handicapped K-12 or Intervention Specialist K-12 (Moderate/Intensive or Mild/Moderate)
• Experience working with students with multiple disabilities
• Skilled in inclusion models, resource room support, and small group instruction
• Comfortable collaborating with staff to serve a diverse population
• Proficient in writing and implementing IEPs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to kindergarten students, both individually and in small groups
• Adapt lessons and instructional strategies to meet the varied needs of learners
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers and related services staff to facilitate student inclusion and progress
• Write, update, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with state requirements
• Use data and ongoing assessment to tailor instruction and communicate progress with families and teams
• Foster a positive, encouraging classroom atmosphere that appreciates every child’s unique abilities
