Grades 9 - 12 Grades 6 - 8 Special Education Teacher - Lancaster, PA

Skills and Experience Sought:

• Active and valid Special Education teaching certification (emergency certifications not accepted)
• Experience with K-12 populations, including elementary, middle, and high school
• Previous work in Emotional Support settings (grades 2-4) and/or Autistic Support (grades 1-2) is highly valued
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong behavioral management and de-escalation skills
• Collaborative attitude for teaming with general educators, related service providers, and families
• Clear communication skills, both written and oral

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, adapt, and deliver curriculum to meet students’ individual education needs
• Implement evidence-based strategies for Emotional Support and Autistic Support programs
• Foster a safe, nurturing classroom environment, promoting both academic and social-emotional development
• Track and document student progress, preparing reports and contributing to IEP meetings
• Communicate regularly with families and support staff, ensuring a team approach to student success
• Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and best practices in special education
