Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid and active South Carolina Special Education Teacher License with Multi-categorical endorsement, or equivalent required certifications
- Experience in special education settings: co-taught resource rooms, moderate classrooms, and self-contained, multi-categorical environments strongly preferred
- Adaptability and flexibility to work across various schools and classroom models
- Excellent communication skills and cooperative team spirit
- Genuine commitment to encouraging student achievement and empowerment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging, individualized instruction for students with diverse learning needs in classroom settings from preschool through high school
- Collaborate with general education teachers in co-taught resource rooms to foster inclusive education models
- Design and implement differentiated lesson plans to meet each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
- Maintain accurate, thorough documentation of student progress and collaborate with support staff and families
- Foster a positive, supportive learning atmosphere that promotes respect and inclusion for all students
