The position is designed for a compassionate, skilled Special Education Teacher—preferably bilingual in Spanish and English—who is committed to fostering growth, learning, and consistency in a unique environment.
Your commitment would be 2.5 hours per week, with the possibility of increased hours as the schedule is refined. The placement is year-round, with the district seeking a dependable provider for an extended period through the end of the 2027 school year and potentially beyond. The team-based support includes speech-language, occupational, and physical therapists collaborating to meet the student’s educational goals.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English) strongly preferred
- Experience working with medically fragile or homebound students a plus
- Ability to establish trust and rapport with students and families
- Adaptability to accommodate individualized learning needs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging, individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals
- Develop and adapt educational materials for a bed-bound student
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team (SLP, OT, PT)
- Communicate regularly with the student's family, honoring linguistic and cultural needs
- Maintain accurate records and progress monitoring
