Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting a student with cognitive impairments at a welcoming educational center. This onsite contract position runs through June 2027, with a schedule that allows for work-life balance and the unique opportunity to collaborate closely with a dedicated multidisciplinary team. As the CI Teacher, you will serve a single elementary-aged student, providing targeted instruction in an environment that prioritizes behavioral and mental health support.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Valid CI (Cognitive Impairment) certification—this is a must-have.
  • Experience with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) or similar behavioral needs strongly preferred.
  • Degree in Special Education and licensure for the state of Michigan.
  • Comfort managing individualized education plans in a collaborative, team-based setting.
  • Ability to offer encouragement, consistency, and structured support for an elementary-aged student.
  • Enthusiasm for working school hours: 7:30 am – 2:45 pm (37.5 hours per week).

What You’ll Do:

  • Work exclusively onsite to provide individualized instruction and support.
  • Manage behavior and mental health needs using proven strategies.
  • Collaborate proactively with a full team of experts, ensuring holistic care.
  • Track and report on progress, adjusting interventions as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with families and staff to champion student growth.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with special education best practices.
