Embark on a fulfilling career supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a resource classroom setting. Two full-time positions are available to provide tailored instruction for students with mild to moderate disabilities. These roles offer the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while collaborating closely with other dedicated educators. The openings are for the current school year, starting as soon as possible and concluding at year-end.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid California CTC Special Education credential required
- Experience in elementary education and working with mild/moderate disability populations
- Ability to manage and support a caseload of approximately 28 students
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues
- Flexibility to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individualized learning needs
- Passion for advocacy and inclusion within school communities
- Prior experience in a resource classroom (preferred, not required)
Key responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students in the resource classroom
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff
- Track and report student progress through ongoing assessments and data collection
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages student engagement and independence
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student growth and strategies
- Maintain timely documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school initiatives
