Step into a pivotal leadership role supporting students and instructional teams as an interim Special Education Supervisor/Vice Principal serving grades K-8. This contract opportunity is located near Laurel, MD, with responsibilities extending until approximately October 2026. The Education Director works collaboratively with the Lower/Middle School Director to ensure top-quality educational experiences. This position is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, Monday through Friday role, committed to delivering excellence in special education.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the development, execution, and supervision of educational programs for K-8 students.
  • Directly supervising instructional teams and supporting both staff and families.
  • Ensuring the effective implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Overseeing student scheduling and providing guidance to support student success.
  • Maintaining compliance with all Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) regulations.
  • Collaborating regularly with school leadership for seamless program operations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Maryland certification in Special Education for K-12 is required.
  • Preference given to those who also hold a Maryland Vice Principal or Special Education Supervisor certification.
  • Previous experience in a leadership, supervisory, or educational director role strongly preferred.
  • Acute knowledge of IEP development, state compliance, and best practices in special education.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

This position offers a competitive hourly rate between $45 and $60, commensurate with experience and credentials.
