Special Education Teacher - Laurel, Maryland

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current Special Education Teaching certification (or eligibility)
• Experience working with students who have a variety of learning, behavioral, and/or physical challenges
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and legal compliance
• Skilled in differentiating instruction and implementing individualized supports
• Patience, adaptability, and a student-centered mindset

Responsibilities:

• Develop, adapt, and deliver engaging lesson plans tailored to each student’s needs
• Implement IEPs, assess student progress, and participate in IEP meetings
• Collaborate with general education teachers, classroom aides, and support staff
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes student confidence and independence
• Engage with families and caregivers to support student goals
• Maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to all relevant laws and school policies
