Special Education Teacher | Laurel, Maryland

As a Special Education Teacher, you'll help young learners with special education placements develop foundational skills in an environment designed for their unique needs. We are currently seeking caring and skilled educators for our specialized classrooms serving preschool-age children. You’ll collaborate with fellow professionals and contribute to programming that makes a difference in students’ daily lives.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working in early childhood or preschool special education settings
• Deep understanding of IEPs, behavior intervention plans, and differentiated instruction
• Excellent organization, communication, and classroom management skills
• Ability to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
• Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for helping young children learn and grow

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to each student's abilities and goals
• Provide direct instruction and adapt curriculum as needed
• Work closely with paraprofessionals, speech and occupational therapists, and other team members
• Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
• Communicate regularly with families about student accomplishments and needs
• Maintain a structured, nurturing, and safe classroom environment
• Participate in meetings and professional development related to special education best practices
