Special Education Teacher - Laurens, SC

Key Qualifications:

• Current Multi-Categorical Special Education certification valid in South Carolina
• Previous experience working with elementary-aged students in a self-contained or special education setting preferred
• Strong understanding of diverse learning needs, IEP development, and implementation
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with parents, staff, and related service providers
• Adaptability, patience, and dedication to cultivating an inclusive classroom culture

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized instruction tailored to students' academic, social, and emotional needs
• Develop and maintain individualized education plans (IEPs), tracking student progress and adjusting strategies as needed
• Foster a structured and nurturing classroom setting, encouraging student independence and self-advocacy
• Implement behavioral interventions and positive reinforcement strategies to support student development
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and school staff to ensure an integrated approach to student success
• Engage regularly with families, providing updates and guidance to further support each child’s progression
