Special Education Teacher - Laurinburg, NC

Make a meaningful impact by supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a dedicated separate setting classroom for ages 6-8. This contract opportunity runs from now through the end of the school year, with hours set from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Contribute to students’ growth and development within an elementary environment, delivering creative and compassionate support that makes a difference every day.

Key Qualifications:

• Current certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience working as a Special Education Teacher or in similar roles within schools
• Familiarity with creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Ability to manage a structured classroom supporting students with diverse exceptionalities
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with other educators, staff, and families

Primary Duties:

• Deliver individualized instruction in a self-contained environment, modifying materials as needed
• Foster an inclusive and nurturing classroom atmosphere for students aged 6-8
• Assess student abilities, track progress, and adjust teaching methods to meet varied learning needs
• Work closely with support staff and families to ensure each student’s educational and behavioral goals are met
• Document student progress, participating in necessary meetings and staying up to date with compliance requirements
• Provide positive guidance and behavior management to encourage social, emotional, and academic development
