Special Education Teacher | Lawrence, Kansas

Seeking experienced Special Education Teachers for multiple contract positions in a vibrant and supportive school setting near Lawrence, KS. Both elementary and secondary age groups require passionate educators for resource and self-contained (specialized) classrooms. Positions begin August 12, 2026 and continue through May 26, 2027, with a 37.5-hour workweek at a single assigned site. Qualifications:

• Current Kansas SPED certification required
• Experience with elementary and/or secondary special education students preferred
• Comfortable working in either resource or self-contained classroom settings
• Strong classroom management and differentiation skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Deliver direct instruction, utilizing evidence-based strategies for students with diverse learning needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Foster a positive, respectful, and structured classroom environment
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and goals
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all state and federal regulations
