Soliant Education is hiring onsite Special Education Teachers for the Lawrence School District in the Lawrence, KS area. This is an education industry contract position for the 2026–2027 school year, running ASAP through May 27, 2027. The schedule is full time at 37.5 hours per week, and all openings are located at one school site.

Position Overview

The district has two full-time openings available for middle school educators. One role supports students with emotional disabilities, while the other focuses on learners with functional and life skills needs. These positions are ideal for teachers who are patient, organized, and comfortable providing individualized instruction in a supportive school environment.

Responsibilities

The Special Education Teacher will develop and implement individualized education plans while providing direct instruction aligned with student goals. Duties include adapting lessons, monitoring progress, collaborating with general education staff, and supporting social, behavioral, and academic growth. The teacher will also communicate with families, service providers, and school teams to help students succeed throughout the school year.

Requirements

Applicants must hold appropriate Kansas special education certification or be eligible for licensure before starting the assignment. Prior experience working with middle school students or students with emotional, functional, or life skills needs is preferred. Strong communication skills, classroom management ability, and a commitment to student-centered instruction are important for success in this role.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.75 to $47.72 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Soliant Education offers weekly pay along with benefits that include health, dental, and vision insurance. Employees may also participate in a 401k plan.
