This full-time contract position is based onsite and offers the chance to work closely with students on the autism spectrum, promoting growth and independence in both academic and life skills.
Qualifications:
- Valid Kansas Special Education Teacher license (required)
- Experience or interest in early childhood and elementary special education settings
- Familiarity with intensive skills classrooms and instructional strategies for students with autism
- Ability to create a supportive, compassionate, and structured classroom environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families
- Commitment to individualized instruction and data-driven interventions
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique strengths and needs
- Provide differentiated instruction and behavioral support in a classroom setting
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Collaborate with school teams, therapists, and families to ensure holistic development
- Document and report student achievements and areas for growth
- Participate in professional development and school meetings as required
