Special Ed Teacher | Ledyard, Connecticut

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in a Middle School setting, focusing on a Life Skills classroom for grades 6-8. This contract role begins immediately and continues through the end of the school year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction in a self-contained Life Skills classroom.
• Develop, write, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to support student progress.
• Implement appropriate accommodations and modifications tailored to student needs.
• Collaborate with school staff and families to ensure a supportive learning environment.
• Track and report student progress in alignment with educational goals.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid state certification in Special Education.
• Experience teaching middle school students, preferably in Life Skills or self-contained settings.
• Strong knowledge of IEP development and compliance with special education regulations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt instructional approaches to meet diverse learner needs.
