In this position, you’ll work with a caseload of 7-9 high school students in a Life Skills program, designing adaptive learning activities and individualized education plans to help each student achieve critical goals. Your expertise will foster independence and daily living skills, providing vital support to learners and their families.

Qualifications & Desired Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
  • Current and valid Special Education Teacher certification
  • Experience teaching high school students, particularly in Life Skills or functional academics programs
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Understanding of IEP development and progress monitoring
  • Excellent communication and collaborative abilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Instruct, assess, and support students in the Essential Life Skills program onsite
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals collaboratively with families and school teams
  • Modify curriculum based on individual learning strengths and needs
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture
  • Maintain thorough records of student progress and required documentation
  • Partner with support staff, therapists, and administrators to enhance student outcomes
