Special Education Teacher in Leesburg, FL

Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners as a full-time Special Education Teacher. This is a contract opportunity working with kindergarten through 3rd-grade students in a self-contained classroom environment. You’ll work closely with a dedicated team of three paraprofessionals, providing instruction and guidance to a class of 11 students with Autism and other related needs. The students have diverse learning abilities and require personalized strategies to reach their full potential. Notably, there are no significant behavioral challenges in this classroom, allowing you to focus on skill-building and academic growth.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other exceptionalities
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with staff and families
• Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
• Ability to differentiate instruction for multilevel learners

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, individualized lessons across multiple subjects for K-3rd grade students
• Manage a classroom environment with the support of three paraprofessionals
• Adapt materials and teaching techniques to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning space
• Communicate regularly with families and support staff regarding student outcomes
