Special Education Teacher in Lenexa, KS

This position offers an opportunity for a dedicated Special Education Teacher specializing in Early Childhood to make a meaningful impact in an elementary school setting. The role involves working with young learners, ages Pre-K, providing specialized instruction and support within a full-time contract position.

Location:

• Lenexa, KS area
• Early Childhood Center in Kansas City, KS (priority location)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
• Deliver specialized instruction to small caseloads typically ranging from 8 to 18 students.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including parents, administrators, and support staff.
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to maximize growth and development.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and social skills.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Certification in Special Education appropriate for Early Childhood learners.
• Experience working with Pre-K aged children in educational or therapeutic settings.
• Strong understanding of Early Childhood SPED best practices and state-specific guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to manage a caseload and maintain accurate documentation.
