Bring your expertise and compassion to a rewarding contract role that supports middle school students with diverse and intensive needs. In this position, you will work closely with a small caseload of 8 students in grades 6–8, utilizing specialized strategies to foster academic and social growth within an Intensive Resource program. This is a fantastic opportunity to transform learning experiences for students with intellectual disabilities, autism, other health impairments, or multiple disabilities, while collaborating with a dedicated team of professionals.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current Kansas low incidence special education licensure or unified licensure required
  • Experience working with middle school-aged students is highly desirable
  • Background supporting students with intellectual disabilities, autism, multiple disabilities, or other health impairments strongly preferred
  • Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student abilities and needs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers, paraprofessionals, and families

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide specially designed instruction in alignment with students’ IEPs within the Intensive Resource program
  • Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies to address a wide range of learning, behavioral, and developmental needs
  • Monitor, assess, and document student progress; adjust instruction as needed
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
  • Collaborate regularly with school staff, therapists, and families to ensure student success
