Special Education Teacher in Lenoir, NC

This full-time contract opportunity is perfect for a passionate, licensed adaptive EC educator ready to step into a supportive environment and impact a small group of learners.

You’ll work with 7-8 students in an adaptive EC classroom, supported by two dedicated paraprofessionals. The position begins as soon as possible and runs through May 26, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Qualifications:

• Valid North Carolina Adaptive EC License (required)
• Experience working in special education, especially with adaptive or exceptional children’s programs
• Ability to differentiate instruction based on individual student needs
• Strong collaboration skills and willingness to work as part of a classroom team
• Committed, responsible, and flexible attitude

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver adaptive instruction for elementary-aged students with exceptional needs
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals to create an organized, nurturing classroom environment
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
