Special Education Teacher - Lewiston, Maine

Key Qualifications:

• Active Maine teaching license in Special Education is required
• Prior experience working with high school special education students preferred
• Strong understanding of IEPs, accommodations, and modifications
• Proficient in developing and implementing individualized lesson plans
• Effective communicator and team player
• Commitment to providing an inclusive, nurturing atmosphere
• Available for in-person instruction

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality instruction to a high school caseload through the ESY program
• Work collaboratively to meet diverse learning needs and support individual student goals
• Adapt teaching methods to foster student participation and achievement
• Monitor and document progress, providing feedback to students and staff
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
• Communicate regularly with administration and relevant stakeholders
• Abide by school policies and program requirements

Position Details:

• Two contract positions available
• Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8:00am-12:00pm
• Four hours of instruction per day, in-person only
• High school caseload
