Openings include:

  • A self-contained classroom teacher for grades K-1
  • A functional life skills (FLS) teacher for grades 2-4

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Maine 282 Special Education teaching license is required
  • Previous experience with special education populations, preferably in self-contained or FLS settings
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and staff
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Passion for fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, individualized instruction tailored to diverse learning needs
  • Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain effective classroom management and support positive student behavior
  • Monitor, assess, and document student progress toward educational goals
  • Communicate regularly with families and school staff regarding student growth and needs
  • Engage in school-related meetings, professional development, and IEP conferences
