Special Education Teacher | Lexington, Indiana

This full-time contract position runs the entire school year and seeks two dedicated Special Education Teachers—one focused on Preschool/LD (Learning Disabilities) and another supporting students with moderate needs. Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility)
• Experience working with preschool-aged children or students with learning disabilities, or moderate exceptional needs
• Strong skills in adapting curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning styles
• Patience, creativity, and commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive classroom environment
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with families, staff, and related service providers

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction, both individually and in small groups, guided by students’ IEPs
• Plan and adapt lessons that support academic, social, and emotional growth
• Track student progress and document outcomes in alignment with school and district requirements
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
• Communicate regularly with families to ensure a consistent, supportive learning experience
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and relevant professional development
