Special Education Teacher | Lexington, Indiana

Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, supporting students near Lexington, IN, from August 10th to May 26th. We're seeking two dedicated professionals to fill full-time roles (37.5 hours/week), making a real difference in the lives of students with exceptional needs.

There are two available positions:

1. Special Preschool/Learning Disabilities Teacher (SPED)
   • Serve preschoolers in the mornings (Tuesday–Friday).
   • Support elementary students with learning disabilities in the afternoons (Monday–Friday), plus full-day Mondays.

To excel in these roles, candidates should bring a passion for creating inclusive learning environments and a commitment to students' individual growth.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Indiana teaching certification in any Exceptional Needs area for school settings, including Preschool.
• Experience working with preschool and/or elementary-aged students with learning or developmental disabilities preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
• Adaptable and compassionate approach to individual student needs.
• Ability to collaborate with other educators, therapists, and families.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans.
• Foster a supportive classroom atmosphere tailored to diverse learning styles.
• Monitor and document student progress, updating goals as needed.
• Communicate regularly with families and educational staff.
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and compliance protocols.
