Special Education Teacher - Lexington, Indiana

Make a difference in the lives of students by supporting special education programs for the upcoming school year. Two full-time contract positions are available, providing an opportunity to bring your expertise to a dedicated educational environment from August 10th to May 26th.

Current Openings:

1. Special Preschool/Learning Disabilities Teacher
   Support preschool students in the mornings (Tuesday through Friday), with afternoons focused on elementary students with learning disabilities (Monday through Friday, including full days on Mondays). Indiana certification in any Exceptional Needs area that covers preschool is required.

2. Intense Intervention Teacher
   Work in a self-contained setting with high school students who require intense intervention. This role addresses high medical support needs, with minimal focus on behavior needs. Indiana certification in Intense Intervention is required.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Indiana teaching certification relevant to the specific role (Preschool/Exceptional Needs or Intense Intervention)
• Experience working with diverse student populations and adapting instructional strategies
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development
• Flexibility to work with a variety of grade levels as described

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to ensure students' needs are met
• Assess and track student progress, adjusting instruction as needed
• Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents

This is a full-time contract opportunity with a competitive pay rate of $45 per hour, for 37.5 hours per week during the school year.
