High School Licensed Special Education Teacher - Lexington, NC

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver differentiated instruction tailored to students with diverse learning needs in an adaptive self-contained classroom
• Implement and modify IEPs, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure each student receives a comprehensive educational experience
• Provide ongoing assessment, progress monitoring, and data-driven interventions
• Support social and emotional development while encouraging self-advocacy and independence among students
• Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment that encourages participation and growth

Qualifications:

• Current Adaptive Special Education Certification (required)
• State license to teach special education at the high school level
• Experience teaching or student teaching with high school-aged students in special education settings
• Skilled in creating and implementing individualized lesson plans and behavior management strategies
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration abilities
• Dedication to professional growth and maintaining best practices in special education
