Special Education Teacher - Lexington, SC

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid state certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
• Previous classroom experience as a Special Education Teacher strongly preferred
• Comfort and skill in self-contained settings
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students is a plus

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students in self-contained classrooms
• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs
• Modify curriculum and teaching techniques to accommodate different learning levels
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress
• Coordinate with general education staff and related service providers
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
• Communicate regularly with families regarding goals and student progress
