Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (state-appropriate)
- Demonstrated knowledge of current best practices in special education
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a classroom, therapy, or resource setting
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaborative skills
- Ability to adapt lesson plans and instructional strategies based on student strengths and needs
- Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with staff and families
- Adapt general education lessons and teach a range of academic, social, and behavioral skills
- Provide direct instruction, resource support, classroom modifications, and/or small group teaching
- Maintain detailed records and monitor progress to support IEP goals and compliance
- Communicate consistently with parents, paraprofessionals, and multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff professional development, and school events
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and inclusive classroom environment
