About the Role

This remote Intervention Specialist (Special Education Teacher) supports K–12 students across Ohio through virtual instruction and compliance-based services. The role focuses on delivering specially designed instruction, managing IEPs, and collaborating with school teams to ensure students receive appropriate academic and behavioral supports in a virtual environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide virtual special education instruction aligned to student IEP goals

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families

• Track progress data and maintain accurate, timely documentation

• Participate in virtual IEP meetings, eligibility conferences, and team consultations

• Support accommodations, modifications, and compliance with state and federal guidelines

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Special Education or related field

• Active Ohio Intervention Specialist (SPED) teaching license

• Experience supporting K–12 students in a school-based setting

• Strong understanding of IEP development and special education compliance

• Comfort delivering instruction and services in a virtual setting (preferred)

• Teaching certification may be required depending on district.
