We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Teacher for a full-time, temporary assignment at a Transition School in Lincoln Park, Michigan. This is an excellent opportunity for a special education professional who is passionate about supporting students with autism through individualized instruction and evidence-based practices.
Position Responsibilities
Provide specialized instruction to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Develop and implement individualized educational programming aligned with students' IEPs.
Create a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
Utilize evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies to promote student success.
Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, administrators, and families.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team collaboration as needed.
Qualifications
Valid Michigan Special Education teaching certification with appropriate endorsement for Autism Spectrum Disorder (or eligibility for certification).
Experience working with students with ASD is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of IEP development, positive behavior supports, and evidence-based instructional practices.
Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
