Qualifications:
- Active state certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Experience working in schools with students who have mild to moderate disabilities
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized instruction to students in accordance with their IEPs
- Use adaptive teaching methods and materials to support students’ learning goals
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development sessions
- Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, therapists, and support staff
- Track student progress, keep detailed records, and adjust strategies as needed
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and positive classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about students’ progress
