Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher and make a lasting impact on the lives of elementary students! This full-time contract role runs from October 16, 2026, to January 15, 2027. You will work Monday through Friday from 8:15 am to 3:45 pm (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch) in a supportive classroom setting with approximately eight students and three teaching assistants.

Ideal candidates are dedicated educators with strong adaptability, communication skills, and a passion for fostering inclusive, nurturing environments for all learners.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Active Rhode Island Special Education Teacher Certification required
  • Prior experience teaching elementary-aged students preferred
  • Well-developed classroom management and differentiation strategies
  • Commitment to collaboration with staff, students, and families
  • Ability to create engaging, individualized lesson plans tailored to diverse needs
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality instruction to a small group of students with varying abilities
  • Work closely with teaching assistants to support individualized student goals
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting instruction as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation and clear communication with team members and families
  • Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages growth
