Openings include roles for Affective Needs Teachers, Learning Specialists, SLS (Structured Learning Services) Teachers, and SSN (Significant Support Needs) Teachers at elementary and middle schools.
What you’ll bring:
- Valid Colorado Department of Education Certification with a Special Education endorsement
- Experience supporting students with significant autism, including non-verbal students and those using AAC devices
- Proven ability to de-escalate unsafe behaviors and implement data-driven systems, especially for students with emotional disabilities
- Skilled in collaborating with paraprofessionals, teachers, and related service providers
- Comfort in managing classroom staff and working with children needing tiered behavioral support
- Commitment to building life skills and facilitating smooth integration into daily school routines
Your responsibilities may include:
- Delivering individualized instruction and interventions based on IEP goals for students with significant support needs
- Developing and implementing behavior support plans and monitoring student progress
- Facilitating communication using AAC devices and visual supports
- Leading and supporting paraprofessionals within self-contained or center-based programs
- Creating a positive and structured learning environment for students grades K-8 (ages and locations vary)
- Engaging with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic student support
