Special Education Teacher in Littleton, CO

Step into a meaningful role providing specialized educational support in vibrant Colorado middle schools. Two openings are available, each with unique opportunities to make a difference for students with diverse learning needs. One position serves Northglenn Middle School for seven weeks (September 23–November 11) with a mild to moderate caseload. The other, at Rocky Top Middle School, blends work as a Significant Support Needs (SSN) Teacher and Learning Specialist. Flexible options are available for full-time, part-time SSN only, or full-time Learning Specialist coverage, starting as soon as possible and potentially extending through the school year.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering individualized educational services to students with mild/moderate or significant learning needs
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to craft and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Adapting curriculum and instruction to fit student goals and abilities
• Monitoring student progress, managing behavioral interventions, and maintaining detailed records
• Engaging with families and staff to support each student’s development and social integration
• Working across either one or two schools, depending on assignment specifics

Ideal candidates will have:

• Active Colorado Department of Education Teacher License with Special Education Generalist endorsement (Ages 5–21)
• Previous experience in middle school special education or comparable support services
• Outstanding communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
• Ability to navigate a fast-paced setting with compassion and professionalism
• Successful completion of state-required fingerprinting/background checks and timely credential processing
• Availability for 37.5 hours per week (with flexibility for part-time options)
