Passionate educators are needed to serve in elementary Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Cognitive Impairment (CI) classrooms, as well as a resource room setting. Qualifications:
- Current, active Michigan Special Education license in CI or ASD required
- Experience working in elementary special education preferred
- Ability to effectively modify curriculum and adapt instructional strategies
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging classroom culture
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to collaborate with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students in ASD and CI classrooms and one resource room
- Develop and implement IEPs, track progress, and monitor goals in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Foster positive relationships with students to encourage participation, confidence, and independence
- Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and school-based teams
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians on student progress and classroom activities
- Participate in professional development and training to stay current with best practices in special education
