Qualifications & Experience Desired:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for K-12 or specified grade level
- Proven experience in special education classrooms, including developing and adapting Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong skills in differentiating instruction and utilizing evidence-based interventions
- Excellent communication abilities when collaborating with students, families, and fellow educators
- Demonstrated organizational skills, flexibility, and a genuine commitment to the success of every student
- Ability to implement positive behavioral supports and manage a variety of student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, individualized instruction in alignment with IEP goals and state standards
- Assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies and supports as needed
- Work closely with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure inclusion and integration of students
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including progress reports and compliance with special education laws
- Foster a positive, respectful classroom culture that values each student’s strengths and promotes independence
- Communicate regularly with families, sharing progress and partnering on student support strategies
