This full-time role focuses on guiding students ages 18 to 21 within a dynamic classroom and real-world settings, helping them develop essential job readiness and independent living skills. Key Qualifications:
- Hold or be actively pursuing a valid CDE special education license (required prior to interview)
- At least 1 year of hands-on classroom experience with special education populations
- Flexible, adaptable approach with strong teamwork abilities
- Experience writing and implementing IEPs, creating Behavior Support Plans, and collecting student progress data
- Proficiency in teaching practical life and job skills both in classroom and community environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead instruction for a caseload of approximately 12 transitioning students
- Design, implement, and track individualized education programs and goals
- Support students in building necessary skills for workplace readiness and daily living independence
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and outside agencies to provide comprehensive services
- Guide students during community-based learning experiences, bridging classroom lessons with real-life applications
- Maintain documentation aligned with district, state, and federal requirements
This contract position offers a consistent schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm, with paid time for 35 hours weekly. You’ll find fulfillment in cultivating skills that support student success not only in school, but as they step into adult roles.
