Special Education Teacher | Longmont, Colorado

Key Qualifications:

• Valid CDE Special Education (SPED) licensure is required
• Background working as a Special Education Teacher, preferably with students requiring significant support
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators, families, and support staff
• Proficiency in creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet diverse student needs

Role Highlights:

• Serve 11 students in a Significant Support Needs (SSN) classroom at an elementary level
• Deliver specialized instruction and provide behavioral and academic support tailored to each child’s unique goals
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and general education teachers to develop inclusive plans
• Document student progress and maintain up-to-date records as required by school and district policies
• Support students’ social and emotional growth as well as their academic development
• Adhere to the school’s Tuesday-Friday schedule, with no work on Mondays (34 hours per week, 7:30am-4:30pm)
