Elementary Certified Special Education Teacher in Lorain, OH

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching Certification required
• Appropriate state licensure for elementary and/or middle school levels
• Previous experience supporting students in inclusion settings preferred
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and parents
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specially designed instruction to students in kindergarten through 4th grade (approximately 10 students) within an inclusion classroom model
• Co-manage an inclusion caseload of approximately 29 middle school students (7th and 8th grade), with responsibilities split with another educator
• Provide both in-class support and pull-out instruction for small groups, adapting lessons to meet individual student needs
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), monitoring progress and adjusting goals as necessary
• Maintain clear communication with staff members and families regarding student growth, needs, and successes
• Participate in IEP meetings, professional development sessions, and school initiatives that support diverse learners
