Step into an engaging environment supporting elementary students as a full-time Intervention Specialist in a self-contained classroom focused on multi-disability (MD) needs. This on-site, contract position is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by fostering growth and independence for young learners in 1st through 3rd grade, with occasional support for some 4th graders. You will guide a small class of up to eight students and provide both classroom-based and push-in support, adapting your teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher license, preferably with Intervention Specialist credentials
- Experience working with children in grades 1–4, especially in self-contained and MD settings
- Strong ability to adapt instruction to individual learning plans (IEPs)
- Familiarity with push-in support models and collaborative teaching techniques
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a self-contained classroom for students with multi-disabilities, ensuring a structured, supportive learning environment
- Implement IEPs and modify curriculum as needed, targeting individualized academic and social-emotional goals
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Use evidence-based strategies to promote engagement and achievement
- Provide push-in support for students, collaborating with general education teachers as necessary
- Monitor and document student progress with thorough records and regular communication
