Desired Qualifications:

• Current Louisiana Educator Certificate required (SPED endorsement strongly preferred)
• Open to candidates with an Elementary 1-5 Certificate who demonstrate a commitment to special education
• Prior experience working in a self-contained special education classroom setting is highly regarded
• Passion for creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction and manage IEPs for elementary students in a self-contained classroom
• Adapt curriculum materials, modify lessons, and implement behavioral strategies tailored to each student
• Foster a positive, engaging, and supportive classroom climate
• Work closely with support professionals and parents to ensure student success
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Participate in team meetings, IEP reviews, and professional development sessions
