Special Education Teacher - Luling, TX

This full-time contract opportunity involves working 37.5 hours per week in a variety of specialized classroom settings, including life skills (grades 3-5), ECSE (ages 3-PK), functional academics (grades K-2 and 3-5), and inclusion/resource (grades 3-5). Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
• Proven experience or strong interest working in special education settings
• Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring
• Ability to adapt instructional methods for diverse learning abilities
• Collaborative approach to working with staff, students, and families
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to a range of developmental levels
• Support students in life skills, early childhood, functional academics, and inclusion/resource classrooms
• Develop and manage IEPs, ensuring legal compliance and individualized support for each student
• Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families to maximize student outcomes
• Foster a safe, welcoming, and encouraging classroom environment
• Track and communicate student progress towards set goals
• Participate actively in school meetings, trainings, and professional development
