Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Previous experience working with elementary-age students, especially in grades 2-6
- Deep understanding of IEP processes and accommodations
- Skill in adapting curriculum and instruction for diverse learners
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and staff
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Up-to-date knowledge of teaching methods, tools, and legal requirements related to special education
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students’ individual education plans (IEPs)
- Assess academic and social progress, modifying strategies as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other professionals to support student success
- Communicate regularly with families to provide progress updates and guidance
- Implement behavioral interventions and classroom management strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with special education regulations
- Support transition planning and skill-building relevant to students’ needs
