Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Previous experience working with elementary-age students, especially in grades 2-6
• Deep understanding of IEP processes and accommodations
• Skill in adapting curriculum and instruction for diverse learners
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and staff
• Ability to foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
• Up-to-date knowledge of teaching methods, tools, and legal requirements related to special education

Primary Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students’ individual education plans (IEPs)
• Assess academic and social progress, modifying strategies as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers and other professionals to support student success
• Communicate regularly with families to provide progress updates and guidance
• Implement behavioral interventions and classroom management strategies
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with special education regulations
• Support transition planning and skill-building relevant to students’ needs
