What you bring to the role:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification or licensure, with experience in grades 2 through 6
- Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and implementation
- Ability to differentiate instruction and maintain a positive classroom environment
- Skilled in collaborating with general education teachers and support staff
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Recent experience in elementary special education settings
- Familiarity with SPED 26/27 designation preferred
Key responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized educational plans for students with diverse learning needs in grades 2-6
- Employ a range of instructional techniques to support student achievement
- Track student progress, maintaining detailed records and regular communication with families
- Work closely with classroom teachers to plan modifications and adaptations
- Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and staff development sessions
- Create a classroom culture that celebrates differences and encourages academic perseverance
