5th Grade 6th Grade Special Education Teacher in Lyndonville, VT

What you bring to the role:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification or licensure, with experience in grades 2 through 6
• Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and implementation
• Ability to differentiate instruction and maintain a positive classroom environment
• Skilled in collaborating with general education teachers and support staff
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Recent experience in elementary special education settings
• Familiarity with SPED 26/27 designation preferred

Key responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized educational plans for students with diverse learning needs in grades 2-6
• Employ a range of instructional techniques to support student achievement
• Track student progress, maintaining detailed records and regular communication with families
• Work closely with classroom teachers to plan modifications and adaptations
• Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and staff development sessions
• Create a classroom culture that celebrates differences and encourages academic perseverance
