Step into a fulfilling contracted role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. Work closely with a small group of 5-8 students in a sub separate, self-contained classroom serving grades PreK through 2nd. These devoted students present with a range of significant needs, including severe, multiple, physical, medical, and global delays. Your expertise and care will help shape their daily experiences and ensure their personal, academic, and developmental growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to unique student needs
- Provide personal care support, including diaper changing and full assistance with daily living skills
- Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families for a holistic, team-based approach
- Foster a safe, patient, and nurturing environment to encourage social and academic success
- Track student progress and maintain meticulous documentation according to regulatory requirements
- Adapt instructional strategies and materials for various learning and physical needs
Qualifications:
- Active Special Education License for Massachusetts (required)
- Demonstrated experience working with early elementary students with severe and multiple disabilities
- Strong skills in communication, patience, and creative problem-solving
- Commitment to supporting personal care and daily living skill development
- Genuine enthusiasm for collaborative, compassionate teaching
