This contract position is perfect for a dedicated Special Education Teacher experienced in creating inclusive, effective strategies for students diagnosed with autism and intellectual delays. Based near Lynn, MA, you will work full-time in a sub-separate program tailored to the unique needs of 7th and 8th graders for the entire school year. The schedule runs from 7:15 AM to 2:15 PM, offering a consistent work routine.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education (state-appropriate licensure)
  • Prior experience with middle school students, especially those with autism and/or intellectual delays
  • Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs
  • Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills
  • Ability to collaborate with other educators, related service providers, and families
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver customized instruction for students within a sub-separate program
  • Modify curriculum and adapt materials to meet students’ individualized education plans
  • Foster a nurturing, structured classroom atmosphere that encourages growth and independence
  • Work closely with paraprofessionals and support staff to implement behavioral and academic interventions
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and parent conferences
  • Maintain thorough documentation, progress reports, and communication with stakeholders
