Special Education Teacher | Madison, Alabama

Make an immediate impact guiding and supporting students with special needs as a contract Special Education Teacher near Madison, AL. This full-time role, with a start date as soon as possible and extending through the end of the 2026–2027 school year, calls for adaptability, compassion, and a collaborative spirit.

You’ll provide specialized instruction and case management for diverse learners served in a variety of educational settings—including resource, collaborative, and self-contained classrooms. Desired Qualifications:

• Current Alabama Professional Educator Certificate in Special Education or eligibility for Alabama licensure/reciprocity
• Prior experience managing IEP caseloads, developing and implementing individualized education plans, and progress monitoring
• Strong understanding of accommodations/modifications and case management best practices
• Ability to effectively communicate with families and collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support personnel
• Flexibility to serve in resource/collaborative and self-contained settings at various grade levels
• Experience with behavioral supports strongly preferred
• Commitment to fostering inclusive environments that support diverse learning needs

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct special education instruction tailored to individual student goals
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
