Special Education Teacher in Madison Heights, MI

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education (Elementary level preferred)
• Experience in delivering individualized and small group instruction to students with diverse learning needs
• Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborative spirit and a commitment to working effectively alongside colleagues and support staff
• Strong communication skills to liaise with parents, guardians, and school professionals
• Familiarity with instructional technology and progress monitoring tools

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver tailored instruction and interventions aligned with students’ IEP goals
• Adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods to meet individual student needs
• Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
• Work in partnership with the on-site Resource SPED to share resources, insights, and responsibilities
• Communicate regularly with families to support learning beyond the classroom
• Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
