Special Education Teacher | Madison Heights, Michigan

This full-time, contract position is located near Madison Heights, MI, where you'll be collaborating with another experienced Resource Special Education Teacher to provide tailored support in a nurturing school environment.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (Michigan preferred)
• Previous experience working with elementary-aged students in a SPED setting
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Passion for inclusive education and adapting instructional methods to meet diverse needs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to students with diverse learning needs
• Work closely with the other Resource SPED teacher for planning and co-teaching
• Develop, update, and manage IEPs, ensuring compliance and collaboration with general education staff and families
• Track student progress, providing adjustments and interventions as needed
• Foster a safe, supportive, and respectful classroom environment
• Participate actively in school meetings and contribute to the wider school community
