A rewarding opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support high school students in Madison Heights, VA. This contract position involves working full-time hours, from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm, providing critical educational services and guidance to a dedicated caseload of approximately 16-18 students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering individualized instruction tailored to the specific needs and goals identified in each student's IEP.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, therapists, and family members, to support student progress.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and progress reports to meet state and school requirements.
- Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student success and growth.
Qualifications:
- Active or in-progress Virginia teaching license with a Special Education (SPED) endorsement is required.
- Prior experience working with high school students with diverse learning needs is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavior management techniques.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
