K-5 Grades 6 - 8 Special Education Teacher | Madison, South Dakota

Key Qualifications:

• Active Special Education teaching certification for K-12 (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience working with students in grades K-5, 6-8, and/or 9-12 preferred
• Strong collaboration skills to work alongside general education teachers, families, and support personnel
• Deep understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum for students with a wide range of abilities
• Positive attitude, patience, and a passion for making an impact

Primary Responsibilities:

• Create and deliver individualized lesson plans tailored to student needs and IEP goals
• Support students in inclusive and resource settings, collaborating with classroom teachers as needed
• Assess academic and behavioral progress, providing regular updates to families and teams
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
• Facilitate IEP meetings and contribute valuable insights to help students thrive
